From Monday, Germany, the Portuguese island of Madeira, and the Spanish Balearic Islands will be included in the red category of countries at risk in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was announced on Friday by the Ministry of Health. For people who are not vaccinated or who have not had a disease recently, this means a more complicated procedure on arrival in the Czech Republic.

New rules to get back to Czechia

Low-risk journeys

Low-risk countries (green category) will include Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Serbia, and Vatican City State. From non-European countries, Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Canada, Qatar, Macao, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, or Taiwan. On the other hand, medium-risk countries will include Croatia, Luxembourg, Latvia, Austria, Italy, Finland, Malta, Norway, the Netherlands, San Marino, and Slovenia. For both these categories it is necessary to fill in the arrival form (the so-called PLF) on re-entry.

High-risk journeys

Red countries at high risk of infection are Andorra, Bulgaria, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, Iceland, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Germany, Estonia, France, Greece, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain incl. Canary Islands and Balearic Islands and Portugal incl. Azores and Madeira. “Persons arriving from red and dark red countries must complete the arrival form before returning to the Czech Republic and at the same time undergo an antigenic or PCR test before returning if they use public transport to return. These people are also obliged to undergo a PCR test after returning to the Czech Republic, not before the 5th day and no later than the 14th day after entering the territory of the Czech Republic. Until then, it is necessary to remain in self-isolation,” the ministry recalled. It is good to remember that the above measures do not apply to persons who have at least 14 days after the completion of vaccination, or who have undergone covid in the last 180 days.
